History
Huldresølv AS was founded in Porsgrunn
in 1994 by the goldsmith and graduate gemmologist F.G.A, Elise
Thiis-Evensen.
Our very first products were a pair of silver
bridal horses made for a special sweater. Although the sweater
was not a success, the bridal horses proved popular. The following
year Elise Thiis-Evensen was awarded a business start-up prize
by the county of Telemark and at the same time began working
with the companies Oleana and Tyrihans, which provided the
inspiration for new products. More brooches were made, including
Heart filigree brooch number 5. They were warmly welcomed
and the collection was soon expanded to include belts, bracelets,
rings and earrings. In 1996 Huldresølv AS and Elise
Thiis-Evensen received the Norwegian Design Award for their
jewellery collection.
Since its foundation Huldresølv AS has
grown steadily and its collection is constantly being updated.
From our frist employee in 1996, we now employ 10 people.
Huldresølv’s products can be purchased in handicraft
shops and jewellers across Norway. Although availability of
Huldresølv is limited abroad, it is sold in Sweden,
the US, Japan, Australia and Germany, for example.
Stay with us a while and discover the exciting story behind
Huldresølv - because it is far from over yet.
